Some appliance repairs are not meant to be tackled haphazardly and this is one of those repairs. If it’s as simple as cleaning the burner, then that’s safe. If electricity becomes involved, however, then it’s best to leave it to the experts.
Common Issues to Repair
Oven Won’t Heat Up
The first DIY step you can do is check the power source. The power light, clock and any of the digital readouts should be illuminated. If there are no issues with the power, then your best bet is to give us a call and we can have a look before you use the oven again.
Just like snowflakes and fingerprints, each oven is unique. There are hot and cold spots in various areas of the appliance. Because of this, you’ll have to play around with the oven to find which tier and temperature will give you the best results for your food.
It becomes an issue when you can’t get to the right temperature, period. This could be an issue with the thermostat, the sensor or the element.
Let’s come over and have a look at it ourselves. We can give you valuable tips about how to calibrate the oven and get the right temperatures.
Door Won’t Shut
The seriousness of the issue depends wholly on how poorly the door closes. If the door won’t even close halfway, then the oven is unusable. If the door closes most of the way except for a small gap, then you can get away with it for a while. But you will end up wasting electricity and gas in the process, not to mention cooking time.
This is indicative of the state of the springs, hinges or even the door gasket. The sensor which tells the appliance that the door is closed may also be faulty.
These problems are the more common ones that we see when we give ovens a once over. If you are facing any of these problems, don’t wait for them to get worse and cause you an even bigger inconvenience. Give us a call and we can get the repairs done at the best price possible.
